Sending you virtual hugs and healing energy♥️ Grief is part of the price we pay embracing souls we know we will probably outlive. But small rituals to remember, everyday, honor the love they filled our lives with😿♥️
Eleven weeks and I still expect to see my pup greet me at the door on my return. Moving the furniture helped. Writing to her helped. (Still talking to her helps.) Furry family members leave gaping holes in our hearts when they are no longer with us. May the hole in your heart be softened by your memories of both your kitties.
I am familiar with these overwhelming sad feelings. I read recently to "carry" them but do not "wear" these feelings as they can make you not only sad, but ill. My dog Dalai is 14 and really showing signs of failing and I am already trying to prepare myself for the inevitable. Can we prepare? There is little consolation. Perhaps all we can do is remind ourselves how much they brought into our lives. Carry their loss along with all we have gained. My last comforting thought is when we cross over to the next world we know who will be the first to welcome us. All the best, messy..perhaps, real....always.
Oooph my heart hurts reading this. My 13 year old cat is my world. I’m glad you showed up and are writing from your grief. Messy, honest, human writing is my favorite kind.
Beautiful Robin, yes every thought counts. Every word counts.
Sending you some good energy today 🩷✨☀️ hope you have a great day ahead 😊

I'm glad you're here, even if you feel like it's messy. Some of the best moments in life are messy ones.

I'm sorry for your loss and thank you for showing up. Writing can help and I hope you're able to use it as an outlet for your grief. Take care x
Again, I'm so sorry for your loss, Robin. I know how hard it is.
I'm sorry for that loss. Kitties are so special.
Grief can be a messy process just like life in general. Show up when you can, we'll still be here.
That’s so kind of you, Lorna. Thank you.
Yes, it counts! And in some ways, it counts even more than showing up ... unmessily? :)
Grief is so hard. An oldie that’s relevant from my pre-Substack archive: https://blog.lionbrand.com/4-ways-knitting-and-crocheting-for-an-animal-can-be-healing-for-yourself/
