Hey hey if my Mondays always end up like this, who am I to argue with the universe? Reckon I’ll just accept it. Weekends should be 3 days anyway.

Sadly (or happily) your “slow Mondays” completely resonates, with the addition of daily morning cat medicating, feeding and cleaning ten litter boxes, BEFORE I start circling through another day, finding myself at the end, once again, guilty at my limited “productivity.” Oh, and recently, every day is like a slow Monday😩😹

Daily cat medicating is not for the faint of heart! If you accomplish that, I feel like you're good. Cat medicated. Day = success.

Also, summer to me feels like one long, continuous slow Monday.

Three of my remaining 11 felines need daily medications (every eight hrs, and every 12), Samie for seizures, Felix for inoperable tumor and Tiger for her hyperthyroidism. For those who read my Fuzzy piece, Felix and Tiger are her kittens (now seniors😿) My days are at the mercy of this schedule🙀😩

Robin I was JUST feeling guilty about how slow I'm moving this Monday.... so thank you for this. When I was working a full time corporate job Mondays were "the big day," they started early with a bang, moved nonstop and ended late. I find I still have a lot of residual trauma around Mondays and am constantly trying to give myself permission to just ease in to the week instead of feeling immediately disappointed in myself. It's a work in progress!

I’m definitely in the Slow Mondays Club! I always wake up a bit later after the weekend and work is about clearing emails and figuring out what I need to accomplish that week. Fortunately in my office we do team meetings on Tuesdays to give everyone time for this 😅 I love rounding out my Slow Monday with an evening yoga class to refresh my body and mind after the first day back at my desk.

I love this. This year I'm exploring themed days, and I've tried many different things for Monday. And while I always want to hit the ground running, reality is like you said: slow, never doing everything I expect myself to be able to do (which is way more than possible in any given day, tbh)

Lately I've been trying to focus Mondays on planning and nothing else - giving myself space to breathe, to start again after the weekend. Claiming it officially sounds like a great idea! Slow Mondays. Slow Mondays to start gently, to contemplate the week ahead, to sip coffee and think about what we want to do.

I always feel I need Mondays to decompress from the weekend. If we have had a busy family time (or even if we've all just been at home) I enjoy the pace of a quiet Monday with the house to myself, to settle into the rhythm of a new week. Tuesdays are my new Monday 🤣

Thank you for your words and for normalizing the "Slow Monday." We have them over here, too. In fact, as a SAHM, I now refer to Mondays as our "slow day" to my daughters, who are 4 and 2. I like how the term takes the pressure off and makes space for our bodies, our minds, and our hearts to seek and find what it truly needs.
