I LOVE THIS. I've always felt that we need to normalize failure. I'd love to participate! Robin, I wonder if you'd also be open to talking about your experience both failing and succeeding as a freelancer (maybe in a future post)? As someone who's going through the exact same thing (and probably failing miserably) I'm really curious about what it's been like for you!
I meant to add that I've so far failed to be particularly proactive on Substack, having failed at writing regular blogs on my website. I intend to rectify the former - manana, obviously. 🙄
Failure is definitely underrated. It applies to triers, so it's also about ambition and determination. You can't fail if you've never tried! For example, someone said to me recently, 'I could have been a writer if I'd wanted'. Hmm. Smacks of Lady Catherine de Bourgh's claim that she would have been a 'true proficient' at the piano if she'd ever bothered to tinkle a ivory. It takes guts to try, fail, try again, fail better.
lol. Filling in the form made me actually do the thing I’d failed to do for 6 months.
Ha! That's awesome.
It's Brave to Admit 'Failure' 🙌🏽
Let's acknowledge how we've fallen short of our (often impossibly high and needlessly performative) expectations of ourselves!
Let's open that door to self-acceptance, compassion, and loving-kindness.
I'm IN. 🙏🏼 Thank you, Robin.
I've submitted one of my failures 😊
Yay!

Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow! 😁

So here for this. (Have been feeling like a failure at Substack for the last few months!)
I think we Substackers are way too hard on ourselves when we don't stick to a rigid publishing schedule.
What happens if I fail to fill in the form?
Badaboom!
BIG bada boom.
I love this so much 🌻
Thanks!
