The creative process has ebbs and flows.
Today, for me, is an ebb.
That’s all right. I’ve been flowing all month, and it’s been wonderful. There are few greater joys than letting my creative energy flow out into the world, few greater gifts than witnessing others receive it.
It makes sense that I’m a little tired now. There’s no shame in that, no toxic productivity narrative, no need to push through or try harder or berate myself for being a human who needs rest.
(And no need for you to do those things either, dear artist.)
The tide flows out. It ebbs back in. Repeat.
Is that Yaquina Head?? That’s where I live 😄 (strangely, we were down at the jetty not working today and it was ebb tide)
This is great, Robin! Imagining creativity as an ocean, ebbing and flowing, low tide and high tide, so helpful!
