I was sick last week, and I took three days off from writing these letters.
Three whole days, y’all.
I’ve been sending daily letters since December, and until last week, I didn’t have a single unplanned absence. Not even one.
Surely, missing three days in a row would lead to dire consequences — locusts, fires, a flood of angry unsubscribes at the very least.
Nope. Aside from a number of well wishes (thanks everyone! 😊), the world barely even noticed.
I find that encouraging. It means that maybe people aren’t hyperfocused on my every creative move, just waiting to jump in and criticize the second I mess up or miss a day. Maybe they’re focused on living their own lives instead.
Actually, I think it’s even better than that.
I think that y’all, for the most part, are ready to cheer me on when I do something cool, support me when I’m having a tough day, and mostly, rightly, investing most of your time and energy in doing your thing.
I’ll tell you a secret: this applies to you, too.
So go do your thing. Or take a break from your thing. Or start a brand new thing. No matter what, I’m cheering for you.
There's an important lesson here for sure. Thanks 💜
